About 50 SLW, Associates and friends gathered on March 30, 2008 to celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation.  Being Sisters of the Living Word and Associates, this is a special day to remember the entrance of the Living Word into human history.  Mary’s response to the request to be Mother in a very oppressive culture was the theme of the three reflections.  Jean Krieter, SLW, Mary Pat Wilkans, ASLW and Kathy McGourty from St. James, Arlington Heights highlighted how Mary carried the non-violent stance into her world.  Based on her own contemplative meditation on the words of Scripture, Mary was open and able to live into the will of God for her and for her son, Jesus.  The sharing of the Scriptural story of Jesus’ entry into our world was followed by a meal of friendship and renewal of the commitment to the Mission of the Sisters of the Living Word.
