I know the plans I have in mind for you declares the Lord, they are plans for

Peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.  Jeremiah 29; 11

On June 23, 2023 the Sisters held the Installation of SLW’s new Congregational Leadership Team, reaffirming their role of leadership in the SLW Community and participation in the mission of the Gospel as Sisters of the Living Word. This commitment was taken alongside our outgoing Congregational Leadership Team, who participated in the transition ceremony.

Sister Sharon Glumb read a passage from the Constitution Book “We reverence the Word as cosmic, inspired and incarnate.” She reminded us that we are called to reflect the Word in the World and then handed the book to Sister Marie McKenna, new Congregational Leader.

Sister Carrie Miller handed a lantern to Sister Ruth Platte, new Congregational Leader, after recalling words from our foundress, Sister Annamarie Cook: “What we are really about is life-giving. We know that Christ is in every single person. But in some instances, we have to spark it. We have to help it grow into flame so that people know that they have the Word of Life within them.”

Sister Kristine Vorenkamp read the above passage from the prophet Jeremiah and handed the Bible to Sister Donna Williams, new Congregational leader. Donna reflected on the power of God’s unfolding loving presence among us giving us a future filled with peace and hope.
