Angelita Locher

Angelita started her ministry as an elementary school teacher. She later taught English in high school. In 1977, she became a chaplain at the University Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

Rev. Harry Vanderbilt, a chaplain at University of Illinois hospital, said how he had grown through association with Angelita as they shared their concern for the patients and their own faith each day over lunch. Being a hospital chaplain had been for Angelita a much loved ministry and one that was most difficult to give up as her strength failed.

Sr. Angelita died peacefully on January 24, 1986 and is buried in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
