Sr.
Angelene (Minabelle) Ogden, SLW
December 6, 1914 -
October 8, 1993
Sr.
Angelene was born December 6, 1914 in New Orleans,
LA. She
received her BA from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and her M.Ed from Loyola University in Chicago,
IL. She also received a degree in Special Education from
Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
She always carried
within herself the charism of Living Word, to bring life,
especially to the deprived and less fortunate. Angelene's
life and energy were especially noteworthy toward the hearing
impaired with whom she spent more than twenty-five years.
Angelene
experienced many transitions in her life of which some key ones
occurred while she lived at Holy Trinity on Taylor Street.
Perhaps one of the more significant adjustments was the move she
made in August from Holy Trinity to St. Hedwig's Convent.
Angelene had become very rooted in the life experiences of Holy
Trinity and had invested untold energy and spirit into the
neighborhood. Yet she consented to leave behind that which
had been the center of her life for many years.
Sr.
Angelene died on October 8, 1993 and is buried in All
Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
