Sr.
Mary Leonore (Yvonne Carolyn) Schulz, SLW
June 2, 1935 -
August 28, 1987
Sr.
Mary Leonore was born June 2, 1935 in New Ulm, MN. She
received her BS & MS from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
Mary Leonore first
taught elementary school classes. She continued her work
as an educator in high school mathematics classes. Her
keen interest in both math and science was evident in her
teaching. Before her death, she had begun the Law Program
at De Paul University in hopes of advocating for the poor.
Mary Leonore helped
in the development of the Sisters of the Living Word. She
was involved in committee work since 1975, and was deeply
committed to the planning and progress of the Arlington Heights
building. Everyone present during the 1987 Assembly,
witnessed the tremendous energy expended by Mary Leonore in
being part of the service - partly because of her commitment as
an SLW, partly because of her dreams for this building.

Mary Leonore died on August 28, 1987 and is buried in All
Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
