Sr. Lynda
Rink, SLW
When I
entered the convent 42 years ago, a Sister Mentor told me,
“God’s love is deeper than any ocean.” Of all God’s gifts
during these years of ministry I am most grateful for the many
people whose lives touched mine.
As a teacher
I would always relish opportunities to open my students to their
own gifts and creativity. To affirm them and offer them chances
to express themselves in a variety of ways brought me the
greatest joy. In doing this I felt I could help them see and
experience God’s personal love for them in concrete ways. My
hope was always that they would never forget their blessings,
but be moved to share them with others as a way of living life.
Working with
teachers, parents, parish committees, and persons seeking to
belong to our faith community (RCIA) are other experiences for
which I am ever grateful. What a privilege to walk with others
on their faith journey from the time the precious gift of new
life was entrusted to them, to the sharing and teaching of their
faith in work and action.
Sharing
our Living Word spirit with lay men and women, our SLW
Associates, continues to be a special grace in my life. These
special friends, who identify with our spirit and mission,
deepen my experience and understanding how Jesus, the Living
Word, works in each of us. Their prayer, family life, work,
insight into life situations and outreach to the Living Word
Community speak volumes to me of their goodness.
