Sisters of the Living Word

For many years I had thought that God was calling me to live as a woman religious, but I was not finding a community that seemed right. I, however, lived at a time when I knew I could serve as a Minister anyway, so I went for studies to prepare me professionally.

While I was serving in New Orleans I met some women from the Sisters of the Living Word Community. When they were sharing their story, I was aware very quickly of a real connection between their foundation story and my own.

I have been engaged in many forms of ministry through the years and I have always found that no matter where and with whom I work it is always about spreading the Good News of God’s relationship and the power that brings. I cannot influence everything about the world and those I meet, but I can certainly help show what freedom looks like. I am proud to be a Sister of the Living Word. The sisters continually encourage me to live more honestly. We rejoice in joining with our sisters and brothers in furthering our work of proclaiming liberty to all those unfree.
