Sr.
Vianney Moore, SLW
The nautilus
shell with its many chambers is a symbol of my life. Throughout
my life I enter new chambers as God continually calls me forth
to new paths for my growth.
One of the
new chambers was my call to be a Sister of the Living Word. I
was ready to embrace this call three years prior to our
founding.
After
leaving the teaching profession in 1975, I did secretarial
ministry until 1978. Then I was ready to move into religious
education and pastoral ministry. I have been very blessed in my
ministries as an SLW from the north to the south. I have worked
in inner city, urban, rural, and the bayou country of
Louisiana. The people with whom I have ministered have enriched
my life. Hopefully I have enriched their lives as well by truly
being an SLW.
I believe
that we are called to help transform the world. Therefore, we
need to always be open to where God chooses to use us to produce
this effect. That is why it is important to have a listening
heart to know when we are called to another chamber, especially
one that is on the cutting edge.
Retirement will be another chamber of my life. It does not mean
I retire from bringing God’s loving presence to others.
Retirement will give me more opportunities to continue to be
passionate about the gift of healing through Reiki. I thank God
each day for the gift of being a SISTER OF THE LIVING WORD.
