Prepare! Prepare!
As we continue to Prepare for the coming of Jesus, we need to be mindful of His presence within us. The reading from Isaiah reminds us of the gifts of the Spirt which we also have: wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge and fear of the Lord. These days give us an opportunity to share our wisdom and understanding. Some friend or neighbor can use your gift of wisdom and understanding. It takes time to slow down and listen.
Prepare to gift someone with council and strength in your words and actions. Be there for someone in need of spiritual and material help. It takes time to slow down and share your thoughts and ideas with someone. And what about your knowledge? During these days share your knowledge about the world around you and pray for those who need a new perspective in their lives.
You can enlighten others, but it takes time. We need to Prepare ourselves in the practice of “fear of the Lord” which means a deep respect, reverence and awe for God.
These gifts of the Spirit are most powerful as we “PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD and make straight the path for our God.”
It takes time to look down the path and Prepare your heart for God.
